DAY 16: #31DayAspiringPolyglot Challenge – Learning Persian (Fārsī)

کوه به کوه نمیرسد, آدم به آدم میرسد

Kuh be kuh nemi-rasad; âdam be âdam mi-rasad.

English equivalent: A mountain never meets a mountain, but a man meets a man .

Speaking Like A Cavewo/man

Have you ever been frustrated by language learning because you didn't learn what you wanted to learn in an insane amount of time? I used to beat myself up all the time over this. Were you talking and walking as soon as you left your mother's womb? If yes, please leave me a message, because that's amazing! For the rest of us, the answer is a resounding no. So how can you or I expect to be fluent in one day? The reason I put together this 31 Day Aspiring Polyglot Challenge, was to slow down. I learned my first language (English) by practicing it every day, slowly. With Persian, I've had to be as equally patient. While my script sounds like cavewo/man talk, it's probably the best way to learn a language. It's better to write something down, make mistakes, so you know what you need to work on, and then go work on it!
