It wasn’t until 3:30 PM that I actually decided on a language. I know, I KNOW. I was out until 3 AM ringing in the new year at a casino in Northern California. Did I win? Let’s just say I started the New Year with a bit of a bang!
It’s the last Saturday of the year and I want to invite you to join me on a 31 Day Aspiring Polyglot Challenge, an e-mail mini course to help you get your language learning goals on the right track for the New Year.
I went back to find my friend who was three aisles over with a disappointed look on my face. “I can’t believe I couldn’t communicate with her,” I said, “You just don’t know when you’re going to need to use sign language, but I should have known this!”
As always, if you are in need of a physical book it goes without saying that your local library can assist you. Some libraries and schools offer access to Mango Languages, which is essentially a better and free version of Rosetta Stone. By the way, never buy Rosetta Stone. That’s just my two Euros.
